My Philosophies:
I believe people have a true need to be heard and not have their feelings judged. I will provide a safe space for you to be heard and partner with you as you let go of what no longer serves you. I had a wonderful therapist who “gave me permission” to feel what I felt, a safe place to process my pain without judgment, and encouragement to move forward in my life. That is my goal for to my clients. I feel it is an honor when someone chooses me as their therapist. Therapy is an equal partnership between client and therapist and the process of counseling can be the catalyst to empower you to make healthy changes.
My favorite forms of therapy: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
We all have core negative beliefs that influence the way we think, feel, and behave. In my work with clients, I help you to discover and unravel your core negative beliefs, process them, let them go, and bring in new beliefs and ideas.
CBT is based on looking at how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion) and how we act (behavior) all interacting together. If you have negative or hurtful thoughts, this influences your
feelings, which can cause hurtful or destructive behavior.
This can be an endless cycle unless interrupted and changed.
EMDR Therapy helps so many people who suffer from trauma, small or big trauma. Please see a full description under the EMDR link above.
